Today I bring you the last of three looks from SWAK designs.

They kindly gifted me three amazing pieces, all of which I’m pretty in love with, but I think the top from today’s post is my favourite, since I’ve definitely worn it the most already!

nikki chiffon blouse – c/o SWAK | mineral wash skinny jeans – forever 21+ | moon & stars arm cuff – ASOS curve

So, I’ve pretty much been wearing this blouse non stop since it arrived. It’s just so …ME!

black? check!

sheer? check!

bit o lace? CHECK!

It fits really nicely as well. I’m kicking myself as I snipped the tag off so it didn’t show through the lace, so now I’m not 100%, but I think it’s a 2x, but it could be a 3x, but I’m pretty sure its a 2x.

I’ve been mostly wearing this top with either skinny jeans or my disco pants from ASOS, but I think you could add a tube or pencil skirt if you’re going somewhere nice, or throw a blazer over it if you’re looking for edgy yet slightly sexy office attire.

And while I’m gushing…

…then there are these jeans. These mineral wash skinnies are made of dreams and comfiness! I ordered these in a 20, and they are the BEST jeans I think I have ever owned! I’m quite impressed as usually f21 jeans are just kind of the type that you make do, because they’re cheap and you just really need some new jeans since the crotch blew out on your old pair and you can’t possibly repair them anymore without it being noticeable!

So these jeans are almost more jeggings than jean as they have an amazing stretch factor, they’re soft as kittens and they have real pockets. On top of it, I really am digging on the mineral wash.

So if you ever see me around town, it could be very likely this is what I’ll be wearing on dates, grocery shopping heading to a pals, because it has basically been a uniform since the pieces arrived on my door step!

Have you shopped SWAK before? This top, the Bianca duster and terri chiffon duster  { click links to see my posts on each item } were my first items from them and I have to admit to being completely won over by the brand!

AND they currently have a sale sitewide which ends Sunday, so it’s a perfect time to check them out!

outfit | I’ve been a bad, bad girl

We may have been putting off our taxes a wee bit, I know, we’re terrible BUT we finally did them a couple months back and mailed them in. After waiting two and a half months after we posted them off we received our return and we’ve each been shopping up a storm since, so you’re going to be seeing a LOT of new outfit posts in the coming weeks!

I treated myself to four pairs of new boots { that’s right, FOUR!!! }, a mini haul from ASOS, another from boohoo { you’ve seen one item so far} a lil something from Domino Dollhouse which I cant wait to share and a big haul from Forever 21 for both Mister Meanie and myself.

Still on the docket, I have yet to order a body chain from Ready to Stare because I’m stumped on which one and which colour…I think I have it down to the pentagram harness, but in black or gold? HALP ME!! And I will wait ever so diligently until the Boleyn dress is back in stock on Chubby Cartwheels.

I may have also splurged on an Ipsy subscription and a whole bunch of liquid mattes from ColourPop! It’s been ridiculous fun.

duster vest –  c/o SWAK | shimmer disco pants – ASOS | solid lug sole boots – urbanog

This outfit is featuring my new disco pants from ASOS, my new Joan of Arc { clone high anyone?! } stomping platform boots from urbanog and a perfectly gorgeous terri chiffon duster gifted to me by SWAK.

I have been craving disco pants for sometime, ever since I first saw them on a straight size friends butt.  I have coveted them. Now these aren’t the exact ones I wanted with the high waist, zipper button closure on the front and pockets on the derrière, but they do have the shine I was going for. These are basically just spandex straight outta the 80’s/90’s, but they are comfy and I think they look badass! Especially with these boots, but they’re gonna look awesome with all my boots { eeeps, I can’t wait to show you them all!! }

This vest though? It’s so pretty and gives my all too often all black on black on black looks a much needed and totally fun pop of colour. I love how it flows, the cut is really pretty and I even dig on the pattern, which I all too often shy away from. This is a winner that will make it into many outfits! I can’t wait to rock it with my black crop top and a black tube skirt! Oh and the vest is on sale now!!

outfit | back to black

With Valentines fast approaching it’s awfully hard to not want to rock a romantic outfit.

Although I don’t celebrate the day in the normal sense, that doesn’t mean I still can’t sport a lacy frock if I want to!

I picked up this dress from f21 while I was in Las Vegas last winter.  It’s kind of a perfect date night or party dress with it’s tulle skirt and lacy bodice.  I’ve seen them bring it back twice now, once in a beautiful shade of oxblood, so I’d keep an eye out for it as you never know, it may make yet another return and I highly recommend it.

For once, the fit is dead on.  No squished boobs, no hugely gaping armholes, no waistband coming across the bust line because there is not adequate fabric to cover the ladies!  It was definitely a a glorious moment being able to try something on in store and know it was coming home with me!

dress – f21+ last winter, earrings – Betsey Johnson, Hat – f21,  jacket – New Look via ASOS

So I did something tricky here and added a “strap” to my clutch by putting a beaded necklace under the flap! I thought I was being pretty clever!

You can also see, the black hair is gone.  This is a brief stop over in the land of auburn, I’ll give it a month and then I’ll be hitting the bleach bottle up again in an attempt to get it light enough to attempt grey, but I need to get all traces of red out to realise that dream first!

I’ve gone around online and found some similar styles & some personal favs of romantic little black dresses for you to shop at your own leisure, as little black dresses always come in handy, regardless of the date…

outfit | before you know it you’ll be on your knees

shirt dress // margot meanie

There is something about a dress that can make it look like you put a lot of thought and effort into creating an outfit, when really, you just threw it on.

Today I am rocking one of my fav pieces to wear, the shirt dress.

This particular shirt dress is from Ross, I can’t remember if it’s from the one in downtown Seattle or downtown Portland.  I always seem to have luck in Ross, I will almost always find something and it will be dirt cheap.  I believe this dress was $13.

Whenever I’m in the states, I make an effort to find a Ross or Marshalls, as they usually have cheap plus items, though the selections in the Seattle and Portland store where significantly smaller then the massive selections and finds to that of the Ross on the Las Vegas strip {that store is CRAZY, I once bought 3 Betsey Johnson purses for $5-15 each and got two cocktail dresses, one was $11 and one was on sale for $7…is that not ridiculous?!!}

But back to this dress.  This is a shirt dress and I just love how versatile this style can be.  It makes a lovely daytime dress, can be professional looking for an office or an interview and can be jazzed up with some jewelry and some bangin shoes for a dinner out.

I usually opt to leave the top buttons undone on this, but I was feeling it all buttoned up the other day.  I also like the straps to hold the sleeves up if you choose to roll them up, but there is a nice double button detail if you choose to wear the sleeves down.

I’m also wearing my New Look Inspire waterfall jacket {from last year, here’s a similar one} which you have seen on me oodles of times now.  It’s just a perfect jacket, especially for Vancouver.  Here I am in the middle of January and this was all the jacket I needed for our weather lately.  I like that I can layer a hoodie or sweater easily underneath to warm it up and it still looks rad!

Oh, right, we wear black!

So, I obviously did something with my hair!  I went the polar opposite of the light tresses I’ve rocked all spring and summer long in favour of the darkest shade you can go!

I have often gone back to black, but less and less as I get older as it is such a  freakin pain to get out once I’m tired of it!  My number one piece of advice for anyone going darker at home, NEVER use permanent black dye.  It is a death mark for hair, especially if you change your hair somewhat regularly.

I elect to only use the shampoo out variety! But even the semi permanent options can be a bugger to get out.  I usually end up going some shade of red or pink when I’m changing from black as it just goes copper orange once bleach touches it.

We’ll see how long this time lasts! It’s always nice to give the hair a break from bleaching every once in a while.

What I wore:

I’m wearing my geometric sakura print shift dress from Dress911, which you’ve seen before in {hard pastel} where I styled it for spring and summer.  My staple faux leather waterfall jacket from New Look Inspire {similarsimilar}, some black leggings from Forever21+ {they have a bunch online now and they’re always so cheap!} and my weekender bag with over sized houndstooth print in teal, which I bought from Torrid ages and ages ago!

This week I was also honoured by my fellow Canadian bloggin babe,  Alex from Not Afraid to Wear Heels {sadly she lives on the other side of the country and I am yet to meet her in person}.  She has been doing up some darling doodles of fashion bloggers and graced me with this totally rad design, I’m completely smitten by it!

The Design Collective For Evans @ London Fashion Week

I’ve been green with envy watching so many bloggers enjoy both New York Fashion Week and now London Fashion Week, but I have no right to be as I was granted an All Access media pass to Vancouver’s Fashion Week which is going on right now!!

I’ve been unable to attend any shows yet, but I’m hoping to pop into a quick one tonight right before I head to see LA Roux in concert {it’s been a good week, as I just won tickets to see her!} and then Friday night as well as Sunday night look like they will be fun to see!

The only thing is, there does not seem to be any plus size fashion showing in my neck of the woods.  But that’s where it gets exciting.  I’ve seen snippets here and there on instagram of the Evans show in London and I was really happy to watch the full show last night as it’s been uploaded to youtube, so I’m going to share that here with you guys!!

Watch this video and follow my favourite looks in the description below!

My personal favourites being:

Look 2, which is an amazing print and makes her bum look delicious, look 4 which is edgy and flowy and sheer, a trifecta for me! Seems like there is a designer changes as things get a modern/vintage twist.  Look 9 is making me truly feel contemporary flapper it definitely giving a nod to the era, but remaining truthful to the current fashion.  I appreciated the vintage Hollywood glam in looks 12 & 14, though I wouldn’t personally wear either, they are lovely and I love the fabrics used in both.  Look 15 continues with the vintage Hollywood glam and let me just say, I wish I had events to wear this amazing green dress to!! The structure & colour are to die for!!

The show takes another turn at this point {change of designer again?}, but just sign me up for that black button up dress already! I want it, gimme gimme!! {and c’mon, those visors are kinda amazeballs!}  I’ll also gladly take the sheer striped dress which, I believe, is look 17 {? I’m losing track} I have a similar waterfall pleather jacket that I purchased from ASOS last year {I believe it’s a New Look design} that would recreate the look perfectly! Look 18 is simple with nice detailing on the crisscross straps, I think it would fit in nicely to anyone’s closet.

Now I’ve completely lost track of numbers, but the asymmetrical periwinkle chiffon dress paired with that extra long gauzy cardigan just makes me dream of white sandy beaches, I’m down.  Why, hello there hi/low sheer peplum top, can we be friends now??  I kinda love that laser cut silver pencil skirt and I’d totally style it with the just mentioned sheer peplum!  I’m feeling that pleated midi skirt, it’d be a lot of fun in the summer, though, it could be fun in the winter too, all shimmering & icy!  I can picture it ice skating, you know, if I ice skated.

And then, there it is, the item I have been looking forward to with bated breathe.  I had only seen ever it so briefly on instagram, the sheer holographic dress!  I want it, like,  yesterday!! I was dying to really see that amazing sheer holographic dress!! I’m completely smitten!  I want to wear it with Chromat or Zana  Bayne or Teale Coco harness’s and accessories!! {which all brands cater to all body sizes!}

What do you think, what were your favourite looks?
